Hibiscus is a caffeine-free herbal tea with a bold, tart, cranberry-like flavor. Here's how to prepare it:
-
Place one tea bag in your cup. Hibiscus tea bags contain whole flowers — no need to break or stir.
-
Pour hot water just off the boil over the bag. Hibiscus stands up to fully hot water without going bitter.
-
Steep for 1–2 minutes. Longer steeping makes a stronger, more tart cup. You can leave the bag in while you drink.
-
Customize the flavor. Add honey or sugar to soften the tartness, cinnamon for warmth, fresh mint for refreshment, or orange slices for citrus. We don't recommend milk with hibiscus.
-
For iced hibiscus: brew as above, let cool, and pour over ice. Many customers keep a pitcher in the fridge for all-day sipping.
